Chiropractic care and Sports Performance

In the October 16, 1998 issue of USA Today, is an article that featuring Emmitt Smith, a football star from the Dallas Cowboys. Emmitt Smith is among the greatest players in the game and in his ninth year as a professional. The article talks about his healthy lifestyle including regular chiropractic care. "I began doing this about 4 or 5 years ago," Smith said. "I think that what I'm doing is the thing that helps me carry on. I think Warren Moon, (Seattle's 41 year old quarter back) does a similar thing. So I've turned into a big believer in maintaining my body and ensuring it is aligned properly and performing the way it needs to on Sunday."

Smith joins an ever-growing list of professional athletes who regularly have chiropractic adjustments. In June during the NBA basketball finals, star players Scotty Pippin, and John Stockton were one of those who received chiropractic care throughout breaks in the sixth and final game of the championship series. Also world heavyweight champion boxer Evander Holyfield has been under care for a few years and frequently receives adjustments throughout training, in addition to immediately just before his fights. These athletes and many more recognize the importance of a subluxation free body for maximum performance and health.
